Internet/E-Mail Fraud Alert

May 2008 e-Statements are available.

At MECU your online security has always been a top priority.

As of October 15th we upgraded your online banking experience with a new security service to further help protect you from identity theft. The Enhanced Login Security feature was introduced to help prevent fraud. You will be prompted to take steps to make your financial transactions more secure online.

Enhanced Login Security

This security technology helps to protect your accounts from unauthorized access. It identifies you as the true “owner” of your accounts by recognizing not only your password, but your computer as well. If we don’t recognize your computer (you’ve logged in from a public computer or one you haven’t used before) we will ask you for information that only you will know as an additional line of defense to help prevent unauthorized access. With Enhanced Login Security, you’ll be more protected from whatever computer you're using.  Enhanced Login Security will:

 - Help defend against identity theft and fraud.
 - Provide better security from any computer, wherever you are.

Just another way to help prevent online fraud!

BROWSER REQUIREMENTS

As of August 20th, 2003 we now require all browsers accessing Internet Home Banking to support 128-bit encryption.

Click here for a list of recommended browsers.

PASSWORD (PIN)

At the Internet Home Banking sign on page, you will be prompted to enter a PIN. Input your Speedy Line PIN. Other PINs such as your ATM and Credit Card PINS will not work with the Internet Home Banking system. You must have a Speedy Line PIN in order to access your account through the Internet.

If you signed up for Speedy Line but have forgotten your Speedy Line PIN, email your request for a Speedy Line PIN re-issue to general@michedcu.org Re-issued PINs, for security reasons, must be mailed to your residence.

If you have never signed up for Speedy Line, then you'll need to complete a Home Banking/Speedy Line application in order to receive a Speedy Line PIN. A Home Banking/Speedy Line application form is located on this web site. Use your web browser to print the form. Complete the form and mail it to the credit union. After receipt of your completed Speedy Line application, the credit union will promptly issue and mail a Speedy Line PIN to you.

TRANSFERS

The Internet PC Home Banking service will allow for transfers within your account. To initiate a transfer within your account simply click on the account transfer button, enter the amount you wish to transfer, designate in the From account box, the account you wish to transfer from, designate in the Transfer to box, the account you wish to transfer to and then click on the transfer button.

CHECK IMAGES ONLINE

It's easy to use! After you've signed on to Internet PC Home Banking, click on "Account Access" then click on your Share Draft Account. As you look through your account history, you will notice that any check number that has cleared your account in the past six months is highlighted and underlined. Just click on the particular check that you want, and the image will appear. You can then use your browser's print option to print the image. (Please note that the system uses a history file that is updated each day, so six-month-old checks that you view today may not be accessible for you tomorrow.)

HOME EQUITY LINES OF CREDIT

You now also have the ability to draw advances on your Home Equity Line of Credit (Suffix codes L95 or L97 or L99). Advances on your Home Equity Line of Credit can be deposited into your share or share draft account or deposited into the account of another MECU member of your choosing.

To take an advance on your Home Equity Line of Credit, simply click on the Home Equity account in the "Transfer From" box. There is no minimum required advance on a Home Equity Line of Credit.

Your monthly payment will be adjusted the business day following your Home Equity Line of Credit advance, to reflect additional amounts drawn on your line of credit. Home Equity Line of Credit Loan payments are calculated at the monthly payment rate of $12 per $1,000 principal borrowed.

REVOLVING PERSONAL LINES OF CREDIT

You now also have the ability to draw advances on your Revolving Personal Line of Credit (Suffix codes L07). Advances on your Revolving Personal Line of Credit can be deposited into your share or share draft account or deposited into the account of another MECU member of your choosing.

To take an advance on your Revolving Personal Line of Credit, simply click on the Revolving Credit account in the "Transfer From" box. The minimum required advance on a Revolving Credit Line of Credit is $50.00. You will receive an error message "Transaction not permitted" in the event that less than the $50.00 minimum advance is requested.
