Announcing New Security Upgrades To Internet Home Banking

  • Please click here for a list of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) concerning this update.

  • Recommended browser settings:
  • You will be prompted to create a username to use instead of your Member Number.  The username must be between 6-20 characters that are not all numbers.
  • You will be prompted to create a new password if your current password is not strong enough.  New passwords must be at least 8 characters long (32 max) and contain a mix of letters, numbers and symbols.

This update provides Michigan Educational Credit Union members with stronger security safeguards, based on new government guidelines.

FIRST TIME USERS
If you have never signed up for Home Banking/Speedy Line, then you'll need to complete a Home Banking/Speedy Line application. After receipt of your completed application, the credit union will promptly set up remote access for you.

March 2014 eStatements are available.

CHECK RE-ORDERING
First, sign in to Home Banking, then click on the "Online Services" button. It's fast, secure, and easy.

LINE OF CREDIT LOAN PAYOFFS
There is a loan payoff option on the Account Transfer screen called: Revolving / Overdraft Protection Loan Payoff. You can use this option to payoff your overdraft or revolving credit loan to a zero balance. The steps to use this new option are:
     1. Enter in any dollar amount in the Transfer Amount Field (the system will display the correct payoff amount after you click the Transfer Funds button).
     2. Choose the From and To account and select the Revolving / Overdraft Protection Loan Payoff option.
     3. Click Transfer Funds which will then display the amount of the payoff.
     4. Click confirm transfer to finalize the payoff.

ON-LINE BILL PAYMENT
To enroll in the On-Line Bill Payment service sign on to Home Banking and click on the "Bill Payment" Button.  There is a quick and easy registration process you have to complete. Once you have been approved you can start enjoying this new and improved feature of the Home Banking service.

  • The On-Line Bill Payment service will remain available and be free of charge as long as you are a regular user (at least one bill paid every two months). Otherwise, there is a $6.00 monthly fee.
  • Per item return (NSF) - $30.00
  • Per stop payment - $30.00

ENHANCED LOGIN SECURITY
This security technology helps to protect your accounts from unauthorized access. It identifies you as the true "owner" of your accounts by recognizing not only your password, but your computer as well. If we don't recognize your computer (you've logged in from a public computer or one you haven't used before) we will ask you for information that only you will know as an additional line of defense to help prevent unauthorized access. With Enhanced Login Security, you'll be more protected from whatever computer you're using. Enhanced Login Security will:
     - Help Defend against theft and fraud.
     - Provide better security from any computer, wherever you are.

BROWSER REQUIREMENTS
We require all browsers accessing Internet Home Banking to support 128-bit encryption.
Click here for a list of recommended browsers.

CHECK IMAGES ONLINE
It's easy to use! After you've signed on to Internet PC Home Banking, click on "Account Access" then click on your Share Draft Account. As you look through your account history, you will notice that any check number that has cleared your account in the past six months is highlighted and underlined. Just click on the particular check that you want, and the image will appear. You can then use your browser's print option to print the image. (Please note that the system uses a history file that is updated each day, so six-month-old checks that you view today may not be accessible for you tomorrow.)

QUICKEN
Please click the Quicken link below for a couple of screen shots that display the correct way to respond to a couple of misleading requests that display during the setup of Quicken for Michigan Educational Credit Union:

Quicken (Only the most 3 recent version of Quicken can be used for account updating.)

SCHEDULED RECURRING TRANSACTIONS
It is our goal that all Scheduled Recurring Transactions are posted by 8:00am each morning. However, there are circumstances outside of our control (down systems, communications disruption, etc.) that may prevent or delay your transfer from happening as desired. We ask that you periodically check in on your transfers to ensure your transactions are being posted as you originally intended. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact our Accounting Dept at 734-455-9200.

TRANSFERS
The Internet Home Banking service will allow for transfers within your account. To initiate a transfer within your account simply click on the account transfer button, enter the amount you wish to transfer, designate in the From account box, the account you wish to transfer from, designate in the Transfer to box, the account you wish to transfer to and then click on the transfer button.
Please note you will not be able to electronically transfer funds into an IRA/Deferred Compensation Account or into a Share Pledge account. If you attempt to make these transfers, you will receive an error message, the last line of which will read Transaction Not Permitted.
