ATM Access

You can access your MECU accounts at thousands of ATMs in Michigan, across the nation and worldwide. Simply look for ATMs that display the Co-op, NYCE, STAR or CIRRUS network logos. MECU members can enjoy free, unlimited access at any ATM owned by MECU, plus four FREE withdrawals per month at any ATM that is not owned by MECU. After that, MECU charges a $1 fee for each additional withdrawal. MECU does not charge members for any deposits, transfers, or balance inquiries. If the ATM is not owned by MECU, you may be assessed a "surcharge" fee by the owner of the ATM, in which case you will be notified on the ATM screen during your transaction.

You can avoid surcharge fees by using Co-op Network ATMs. Michigan Educational Credit Union is pleased to belong to the Co-op Network, the largest credit union-owned ATM network in the United States. There are many easy ways to find surcharge-free Co-op ATMs. You can call toll-free (888) SITE-CO-OP or go to co-opcreditunions.org/locator. You can also download the Co-op ATM/Shared Branch Locator to your mobile device or text a zip code to 91989 to find nearby ATMs or shared branch locations.

Shared Branches

If you can't make it to a Michigan Educational Credit Union branch, try a shared branch near you. You'll feel right at home when you visit participating credit unions in all 50 states. MECU members have access to more than 5,000 shared branches nationwide, thanks to MECU's partnership with the Co-op Network. MECU members can use any Co-op Shared Branch to make deposits, make loan payments, receive loan advances and more. Be sure to have your account number and a valid U.S. or state government issued picture identification with your signature for verification.

To find a Co-op Shared Branch near you, go to co-opcreditunions.org/locator or call 1-888-SITE-CO-OP. You can also download the Co-op ATM/Shared Branch Locator to your mobile device or text a zip code to 91989 to find nearby shared branch locations.

Please note, as of September 13, 2022, MECU ATMs will no longer have Shared Branch Express functionality.
