⚠️ Scam Alert: Fraudulent Debit Card Text Messages
MECU members have reported receiving fraudulent text messages designed to look like legitimate fraud alerts.
The message may ask you to respond by text or call a phone number to verify suspicious purchases. The caller may then attempt to obtain debit card information, including the last eight digits of your card number.
Protect yourself:
Do not respond to suspicious text messages.
Do not call phone numbers included in unexpected messages.
Never provide your card number, PIN, online banking credentials or one-time security codes to an unsolicited caller.
Contact MECU directly using the phone number on the back of your card or on our website if you are unsure whether an alert is legitimate.
If you provided information to a suspicious caller, contact MECU immediately.
